Eat and Get Thin

Contrary to what the media has told you, you do not have to starve yourself to get thin. In fact, the opposite is actually true. By feeding your body on a regular basis, you can actually lose pound after pound until you reach your ideal body weight. Moreover, you will not feel the constant pain of hunger, and you will have more energy than you could have thought possible. All from eating regularly.

Undoubtedly, you are shaking your head saying this is impossible. Make no mistake, it is fact. The secret lies in eating foods that are good for your body in the proper portion multiple times per day. You may think that most bodybuilders spend hours in the gym every day and count every calorie. In reality, most  work out no more than one hour per day, and most eat six to eight meals every day, not including a midnight snack. Can you imagine having the physique of a bodybuilder by merely increasing our meals? It is possible.

Please remember, it is possible. However, you must make some fundamental changes to your diet and the portions that you eat. First of all, you must eat healthy at least 75% of the time. That means that 75% of the food that you put in your body must contain few saturated fats, not be fried, and contain a moderate amount of good nutrition. The other 25% is at your discretion. Personally I prefer ice cream and candy bars.

When thinking about the nutrition of your food, remember that leafy green vegetables, and oat meal provide excellent sources of carbohydrates. Meats such as chicken and fish (NOT FRIED) provide a tremendous source of protein, and nuts such as almonds and walnuts provide a healthy source of fats.

Most of us know what is considered eating healthy, but we end up not losing a pound because we eat in the wrong proportions, and we wait until we are hungry. The result of waiting until you are hungry is that you will either override your desire for healthy foods by going for something high in calories such as a hamburger. If you can hold off your hunger cravings until you prepare your meal, you will invariably over eat. The secret is to eat every two to three hours. Eat a small amount of healthy food before your hunger and cravings take over. Eating this way will allow you to go through the day without hunger, and you will actually lose weight.

As I said above, the other implication of waiting until you are hungry is that you will eat in the wrong proportion. When eating to lose weight, make sure that every serving of carbohydrate (bread, oatmeal, pasta, vegetables) is eaten with a serving of protein; some form of protein (eggs, fish, chicken, etc.) Make sure that neither portion is not larger than your fist, and eat the food until you feel satisfied, not until the food is gone. Once again, never eat a carbohydrate without taking in some form of protein, and never wait until you are hungry to eat.

Believe it or not, it is that simple. Eat all the time, and keep the serving ratios of carbohydrates to protein about one to one with a few nuts occasionally added for flavor. Eat this way five times per week and splurge on the weekend. You will be amazed at how many pounds you can actually lose by eating properly only 75% of the time.
